Pavan and Bansley bridesmaids again
Poreč Major runners-up Sarah Pavan and Heather Bansley are sick of the sight of silver.
For the second year running the Canadians missed out on gold in the final on the shores of the Adriatic – and it’s something they want to put right next year.
“It looks like it’s going to be next year,” a down and disappointed Sarah said to us afterwards. “We didn’t take care of business. We’re obviously disappointed but we’ve got to look forward now.
“Our search for gold goes on. We move on to Gstaad where we won bronze last year so we head there going for a gold because it would be a great way to head into the Olympics – and we will do everything we can to make that happen.”
Despite the silver medal hanging around her neck, Heather was also deeply disappointed.
“I think it will take some time for us to see the positives from this,” she said. “It’s on me, they were more consistent and we didn’t play as well as we needed to.”
