We’re at the half-way stage of the women’s tournament and the Pool Play has come to dramatic conclusion and here’s the best stats from the opening 48 matches of a sizzling competition on the sand.
- 33 completed in two sets, 15 in three sets

And now let’s get personal…
Nobody has scored more points than the Netherlands’ Marleen Van Iersel who has won 90 points from her three matches.
Did you know that Laura Fendrick made more blocks than any other play in the competition so far (17) but was handed an early exit in the Pool Play – an average of 2.13 blocks per set.
Fendrick and teammate Brooke Sweat played more sets with a two-point difference than any other women’s team.
No player has scored more aces on serves than German Kira Walkenhorst with 14 aces.
Brazilians Fernanda/Josi have played more sets than any other women’s team so far – playing nine in total after beginning the tournament in the second phase of qualification.
Madeline Meppelink and Marleen Van Iersel have been involved in more rallies than any other team (321) and scored more points than any other partnership (128).
Brazilian reigning champions Larissa/Talita are currently enjoying the highest sideout ratio in the tournament with 77.42%.
Young Swiss players Hüberli/Betschart have won more points on the opposing teams’ serves than any other team (61 times).
The oldest and youngest players in the main draw are both Brazilian with an age difference of 20 years. Duda is the youngest at 17, while Josi Alves is still going strong at 37 – she’s won all three Pool Play matches with partner Fernanda Alves.
