The wait must go on for soccer star
The much-anticipated beach volleyball debut of soccer player Ivan Perišić was delayed as a dramatic storm halted play during Wednesday’s Poreč Major.
The Croatian international, who plays for Inter Milan in Italy, and partner Niksa Dell’Orco were due to play against Brazilian Fort Lauderdale Major winners Alvaro Filho/Saymon in Pool A before heavy rain stopped play.
A number of games had to be paused and play will be resumed on Thursday. Matches will restart at 9am CET, with Perišić due to make his first appearance on court three at that time.
Perišić will play twice on Thursday and will make his debut at the Red Bull Arena at 9pm CET. Click here for the full court schedule.
